Christmas

Our Truck Completely covered in Snow!

So this year we celebrated Christmas two times before Christmas day. Once with my Mom and another with my Dad, Step mom and Stepsisters. By the time Christmas came the kids had already been spoiled rotten. If I thought our house was invaded by toys before I was wrong......it got worse :) This year we spent Christmas in Pocatello, Idaho with my Dads parents which was a blast. My Dad, Step mom, Uncle Chris and Aunt Helen were there also. Santa found Haley and Jaden despite the house being practically covered in snow! It must have snowed like 8" by the time we woke up and another 3" before we left. We actually drove home Christmas day which ended up being a super long drive. We had to pull someone out of the snow on the freeway (who happened to pass by us just a little bit earlier cause they thought we were driving too slow). Jaden got a wooden train from Santa and Haley got a giraffe ball popper. They got a ton of other stuff including a huge Black and Decker work bench for Jaden from my Dad and a walker for Haley from my Mom.

Toy INVASION

We have been invaded by TOYS! I kid you not! Right now Jaden is hanging out watching Kung Fu Panada while Haley watches him in her Jumperoo......yes her favorite new past time is watching her brother, and yes we love it free entertainment. So I thought why not take this opportunity to clean up a little bit. There are toys everywhere! And while I was realizing that little Jaden has this thing where he needs his toys all over the floor....like his father, it dawned on me that my house has been invaded by children. Not only are there toys everywhere but there are enormous baby things everywhere too. I thought since I need to vent why not show you a few pictures of what I'm talking about. Keep in mind this isn't even everything there are a few more things in Haley's room but I figured with these pictures you would get the gist.

China Cabinet

When we lived in England about 15 years ago....geeeez I'm getting old! my parents bought themselves some china. They ended up getting a divorce shortly after we moved to America and my mom got the china. My mom never got a hutch or anything to put it in and I believe she's only ever had it out of the box just a few times. Well when Josh and I got married my mom gave us the china as a wedding present. Josh and I have been married about 3 1/2 years now and never even looked at the stuff! Recently we started looking and china cabinets and holy cow they are expensive. So we had an idea to look on ksl.com (well josh really had the idea) and ended up buying one for $175.00 that needed some work. I think we've had the thing for about a month now sitting in the garage. Recently Josh has been working pretty hard on it but it's time consuming. He has to sand it to get it ready to paint, then paint it, and then sand it again to give it that Antique look =). It sucks though cause there are a lot of spots that are really hard to get to. I wish I would have taken a picture before we started but here is a picture of what it looks like right now.
